What is Reiki?

Reiki is an alternative healing method that originated in Japan. The term “Reiki” is composed of the words “Rei” (universal life energy) and “Ki” (vital energy). Reiki refers to the universal life energy that exists in everything and flows through us.

The practice of Reiki involves channeling this universal life energy through the practitioner’s hands and directing it to the recipient. The hands are placed on or held above specific areas of the body to allow the energy to flow. Reiki can also be practiced over distances, as it transcends time and space.

The application of Reiki aims to balance the body’s energy system, release blockages, and activate the body’s self-healing abilities. It can help alleviate physical discomfort as well as emotional and mental stress. Many people find Reiki to be relaxing, calming, and revitalizing.

Reiki is often used as a complementary therapy alongside conventional medical treatments, but it can also be practiced on its own or in combination with other holistic approaches, such as yoga or meditation.

It is important to note that Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment. Rather, it is considered a complementary method to promote well-being and holistic health.
